LANEIGE dresses up a bus shelter in its BB Cushion Pore Control with MediaCorp OOH Media

Singapore, 13th August 2015 – LANEIGE, the leading beauty brand in Korea has recently taken to the streets of Orchard Road to raise awareness for its product, the BB Cushion Pore Control. As part of the campaign, a 3D flagship will be mounted on the rooftop of the bus shelter outside Tangs Plaza from 13th August to 30th September 2015.

Featuring a stunning compilation of morning to night city scenes, the large scale display communicates to the public how the BB Cushion Pore Control lasts all day and keeps a woman’s make-up looking fresh. Another element of the flagship includes the 3D “BB bubbles” which represents the special BB cream in the product that gives the cream a long-lasting finish. This message is complemented by the “Lasting Freshness” phrase printed on the flagship as well.

In conjunction with LANEIGE’s 3D flagship, they will be setting up a LANEIGE exclusive pop-up store at Tangs Plaza from 14th August to 26th August 2015. From exclusive set promotions to giveaways, the pop-up store will equip the modern woman with Korean Beauty favourites when she pops by Orchard road. The flagship located outside Tangs Plaza will help LANEIGE reach out to passers-by and drive traffic in-store as the shelter is along a strategic path-to-purchase. Furthermore, the attention-grabbing 3D elements on the roof further help to stir up the public’s curiosity.

Mr. Henry Goh, Head of MediaCorp’s OOH Media said, “The LANEIGE campaign is indicative of how 3D flagships can be used to draw attention to special features of a company’s product and also how the public can be encouraged to patronize the stores upon seeing advertisements along strategic path-to-purchase.”

MediaCorp OOH Media reaches out to Temasek Polytechnic students to introduce outdoor media

Singapore, 7 July 2015 – MediaCorp OOH Media played host to 100 Marketing students from Temasek Polytechnic (TP) on 30th June 2015. The students were given a tour of OOH Media’s platforms as well as the different business units in MediaCorp.

OTMB Photo

The first stop on the tour was OOH Media’s on-the-move billboard (OTMB) trucks. Staff from OOH Media introduced the students to the versatile OTMB trucks, whose appearance can be transformed according to a company’s branding. OOH Media also highlighted the truck’s special angled feature and explained how it provides better visibility of the exterior poster while the truck is travelling on the road. Furthermore, they got the chance to look at the interior and exterior of the truck, which still had one of the previous campaign’s collaterals plastered on the walls. By relating OOH Media’s various platforms and its functions to marketing theories, the students were able to understand how classroom concepts can translate to real campaigns.

Tania Ong, a year 2 student remarked, “I feel privileged to be given this opportunity to learn more about the broadcast media in Singapore and its relevance to marketing. The knowledge gained from this trip is not only useful for me as a student but will definitely stay with me as I embark on a marketing career in the near future.”

OOH Media also brought the students to tour the grounds of MediaCorp and its other business units. In the TV production studio where The Noose is produced, the students met with the creator and executive research writer of the comedy series, Mr. Prem Anand. In addition, they had the opportunity to meet and interact with radio presenter Sonia Chew, from 987FM. Lastly, the students visited MediaCorp’s Traffic Watch unit and learned how the unit assists traffic authorities.

Before bidding farewell, the staff brought the students to MediaCorp’s TV theatre, where many shows such as the President Star Charity are filmed. Goodie bags were distributed to them as a token of appreciation.

Ms Elaine Lim, a Marketing lecturer from TP said, “The highlight of the trip for us was getting up close and personal with the OOH Media mobile billboard trucks, where we learned about the endless possibilities of transit advertising.”

Mr Henry Goh, Head of OOH Media also said, “We are glad to have been able to reach out to these polytechnic students to introduce our out-of-home platforms. As outdoor media has seen an increase in expenditure over the years, it is crucial to ensure that future marketers are also exposed to these platforms in order to gain a more holistic perspective.”

According to Unilever, the Magnum Infinity ice cream was created by the Magnum discovery team and scientists at Magnum HQ. The new ice-cream has more than double the cocoa intensity of a Magnum Classic, making it an enduring chocolate and ice cream pleasure hit.

In an effort to raise awareness of this newly launched Magnum Infinity ice cream, Magnum has worked closely with OOH Media to come up with an interactive bus panel to attract and engage its target audience.Magnum1

Singapore, 16th June 2015 – Penang Tourism bought over MediaCorp’s OOH Media’s advertising spaces in the entire bus shelter at Lucky Plaza in order to capture the eyeballs of the commuters travelling along the key shopping belt of Orchard Road.

Penang Tourism bought out all of the platforms available at the bus shelter outside Lucky Plaza – 3D flagship, 6 sheet, 12 sheet, Digi6, Digiboard and TVC, in an effort to reach out to locals and tourists to promote Visit Penang 2015. By making use of different visually attractive elements in the various platforms, Penang Tourism was able to provide an immersive experience for commuters.

Penang Tourism

Located along the key shopping belt of Orchard Road, Penang Tourism featured the various ‘Penang icons’ ranging from food to tourist attractions, with the aim to ‘bring’ a little bit of Penang to Singapore. These icons were portrayed using actual photographs of iconic places of interests in Penang.

The rooftop of the shelter features a 3D train that moves up and down a stone wall hill, replicating the famous funicular train at Penang Hill. Trees were also added, surrounding the various 2D and 3D structures to emphasise the greenery and serenity that Penang is known for. The 6 sheet showcases the line-up of events under Year of Festivals in the upcoming months such as Heritage Celebration, George Town Festival and Penang Island Jazz Festival. The 12 sheet provides more information on some of the experiences one can look forward to when visiting Penang. Last but not least, the Opti-Prime platform displays various videos on Penang that promotes the upcoming George Town Festival in August.

These engaging advertisements are used to prompt audience to find out more about Penang, as the link of the website and Penang Global Tourism’s social media were prominently highlighted. The location of the bus shelter further boost the reach of the advertisements as Lucky Plaza is along the key shopping belt of Orchard Road, with high traffic flow comprising both residents and tourists.

Mr. Ooi Chok Yan, CEO of Penang Global Tourism said, “We hope that the whole bus shelter is eye- catchy enough to induce interests among passersby.”

Mr. Henry Goh, Head of OOH Media, also said, “Integrating all the platforms in a bus shelter allow advertisers to create an immersive brand experience for the target audience. OOH Media is glad to have this opportunity to work with Penang Tourism, and deliver such an immersive bus shelter.”

MediaCorp’s OOH Media launches the new Opti-Prime format at 20 highly visible hotspots in the city

Singapore, 2 March 2015 – MediaCorp’s OOH Media recently converted all their 12 sheet screen wrap formats inside the bus shelter in the city to Opti-Prime – incorporating three new differing formats namely, 4 Prime, Digiboard and Digi6.

An optimum primetime format, the new offerings provide advertisers with the flexibility and variety to reach a wide spectrum of demographics. Located at strategic path-to-purchase locations, these new formats help to seal the last mile marketing frontier from home to store. The digital offering enables consistent engagement from home to out of home with the ability to push ads synchronously with print & time belt scheduling. Advertisers’ campaigns can be made more effective with the ability to target specific audience vis-à-vis the locality.

The three new presentation formats are: 4 Prime static measuring 1.65 x 1.55m, Digiboard measuring 1.08 x 1.01m and Digi6 measuring 0.72 x 1.28m.

The 4 Prime static is bigger than the typical 4-sheet size and provides a medium static format for advertisers to engage audience within the shelter. It can be used in conjunction with the digital screen or as a standalone static poster. The Digiboard is suitable for zonal activation with short and crisp tagline for call to action. It can also be used in conjunction with TVC on the digital screen to support the advertisement and generate more localized call to action. Whereas, Digi6 can be deployed to augment the 6 Sheet poster network to provide additional city coverage. As it is essentially a digital screen, it can include elements of movement to breathe “life” into an otherwise static poster.

In the spirit of celebrating family this Lunar New Year season, MediaCorp has partnered with the National Population and Talent Division on the SG50Baby community initiative. Mr Henry Goh, Head of MediaCorp’s OOH Media, says: “The new Opti-Prime format is a very compelling media platform for our advertisers to maximize exposure to their target audiences. By just making simple formatting changes to our presentation, we are able to offer better positioning and placements for our advertisers. We are delighted to launch the Opti-Prime with the SG50Baby community initiative by NPTD. I look forward to more of such meaningful partnerships to come.”

Commuters transiting at the 20 locations with Opti-Prime formats will be able to find out more about the SG50 Baby Community initiative, including how to send a free e-greeting card plus a special discount coupon to their friends or family members who are recent parents, and about the Marriage & Parenthood Package that supports Singaporean couples to set up and raise a family.

MediaCorp’s OOH Media showcased National Heritage Board’s “200 Years of Healthcare in Singapore” travelling exhibition

– An exclusive collaboration between MediaCorp OOH Media and National Heritage Board

Singapore, 5 January 2015 – MediaCorp’s OOH Media transformed its On-The-Move Billboard (OTMB) truck to a mobile dispensary for National Heritage Board’s travelling exhibition entitled, “200 Years of Healthcare in Singapore”. Other than the exterior of the truck being transformed, the interior was also redesigned to exhibit artefacts and photographs contributed by Museum Roundtable members and healthcare institutions such as SGH Museum and Institute of Mental Health. Primary and secondary school students and members of the public will have the opportunity to take a closer look at artefacts and step back into time when they enter the truck.

OOH Media’s OTMB truck is Singapore’s first angled 24-foot truck that offers an unusual way for advertisers to reach audiences. To ensure maximum exposure for advertisers, the OTMB truck is offered for customized routes, flexible time belts and on-ground activities requests.

Mr Henry Goh, Head of MediaCorp’s OOH Media says, “This event demonstrates that our on-the-move billboard truck is designed to not only be used as a mobile billboard travelling around the city of Singapore, it is also versatile and lends itself well to be used for such audience engagement and events activation. We are very happy to be able to collaborate with National Heritage Board to transform our truck for their travelling exhibition.”

To celebrate Singapore’s 50th birthday, the exhibition traces the history and development of Singapore’s healthcare system in the last 200 years, and highlights the establishment of early healthcare institutions as well as key milestones and campaigns that laid the foundation for Singapore’s world-class healthcare system today.

This morning, the OTMB truck was driven to South View Primary School for the launch of the exhibition by Minister for Health, Gan Kim Yong. Following its launch, it will travel to other schools, public hospitals and other community venues from January to March 2015 to promote greater public awareness about Singapore’s healthcare history and increase the exhibition’s community outreach.
